Echoing & Free-Form Feather

Here in this pic you can see that echoing proved to be a simple yet very elegant way to fill in the blue background around the kitty. Because there's no quilting in the cat or flowers, they stand out. For a while I had been at a loss trying to figure out what to do in the background. It was challenging to think of a design that wouldn't take over and that would work in the large and narrow areas around the flowers and cat. Echoing was the perfect solution, and I enjoyed doing it for the first time.
One of the paisley shapes I like to throw in with my F. Feather design.

I love doing Free-form feather. I have done it so often I could probably do a decent job with my eyes closed, and I still haven't gotten sick of it. It is lots of fun to stitch.

Missy Loved Her Quilts!

Missy loved her quilts today. She graciously gave me permission to post her photo on my blog. I am so obsessed with blogging. I love it! Missy is the gal that made the Christmas Presents quilt seen in the above photo and in the previous post. Here you see her other basket weave quilt as well. I had a blast using some new techniques with her quilts.

Ribbons and Berries

Today is December 22, just three days before Christmas! This being the case, I thought it would be appropriate to have the following photos as my first post. I had a blast stitching these designs and I hope you'll enjoy viewing them! This is the Gammill, I love sewing with it, because it gives me a sense of power. This is the back of the quilt that I just finished yesterday for one of my customers.

The design for the border of the quilt is ribbons and berries. The ribbons are supposed to
look like they've been tossed onto the quilt.

More ribbons....
